The President of Chad, Idriss Deby recently claimed that Abubakar Shekau had been killed and replaced.

Exclusive reports say that Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, presumed dead has purportedly released a new audio message, claiming he is still alive and well.

The Chadian President, Idriss Deby recently said that the head of the terror group had been replaced by another in the ranks, but the new audio allegedly states otherwise.

In this transcription, obtained from Vanguard Newspapers, Shekau is quoted as saying “It is indeed all over the global media of infidels that I am dead or that I am sick and incapacitated and have lost influence in the affairs of religion. It should be understood that this is false. This is indeed a lie. If it were true, my voice wouldn’t have been heard, now that I am speaking.”

He also said “Gratitude be to Allah and with his help, I have not disappeared. I am still alive and I am not dead. And I will not die until my time appointed by Allah is up.”

Shekau referred to Deby as a hypocrite and a tyrant.

Some Military experts say the real Shekau is dead, and that his followers are just using his persona.
