Not even the heavy rainfalls of today could stop Lagosians from participating in the popular Eyo Festival which attracted a large attraction, both national and international.

The Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagosbecame like a Mecca for Lagosians, tourists and other fun seekers who came, mind-[re[ared to enjoy the popular Eyo Festival despite the heavy rainfalls.
The white-clad Eyo masquerades represent the spirits of the dead and are referred to in Yoruba as “agogoro Eyo. The origins of the Eyo Festival are found in the inner workings of the secret societies of Lagos where the masquerades ensure safe passage for the spirit of Kings and notable Chiefs into the afterlife.
