President Muhammadu Buhari has been implicated at an ongoing trial of of Justice Adeniyi Ademola, as a witness accused the president of offering a 'bribe' of N500,000.

President Muhammadu Buhari who is far away in the United Kingdom, has been implicated in an ongoing trial after a witness in the corruption trial of Justice Adeniyi Ademola, alleged that the president gave the judge N500,000 while his certificate controversy was pending before Ademola.
Recall that in 2015, some persons had filed a suit challenging Muhamamdu Buhari’s candidacy prior to the presidential elections, alleging the president had no secondary school certificate as required by law.
According to
Premium Times, the witness said the money was given through President Buhari’s former lawyer, Kola Awodeyin, adding that he does not consider the money a bribe.
Justice Ademola alongside his wife, Olubowale, and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Joe Agi, are currently being prosecuted by the federal government for alleged corruption, though he has denied the charges and requested accelerated hearing at the trial in Abuja.
