Major D. S. Erasmus was killed by a group of Boko Haram insurgents after his convoy was ambushed around Kumshe in Borno State.
Kumshe district is a settlement located along the Nigeria-Cameroon border in Bama Local Government Area of Borno - north-eastern part of Nigeria.
