I Never Meant to Kill Him - Father Confesses to Beating His Son to Death...Find Out What the Boy Did

A 37-year-old man who allegedly beat his 10-year-old son to death on Tuesday because he stole mobile phones at a party, is cooling his heels at the homicide department of the Ogun state police headquarters.

The gallant operatives of the Ogun State Police Command is currently detaining a  37-year-old man, Rasak Adekoya, who allegedly beat his 10-year-old son, Wariz, to death at the homicide department at the state police headquarters, Eleweran,  Abeokuta.
 
According to Punch Metro, the suspect, Adekoya, who said he never intended to kill his son, admitted that he beat his son on Tuesday, October 11, because he stole mobile phones at a party, adding that the boy brought him shame by stealing the mobile phones as well as money belonging to his stepmother.
 
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state,  Abimbola Oyeyemi, had said the suspect was nabbed by policemen attached to the Ago Iwoye Division following a tip-off from members of the community.
 
He said preliminary investigation revealed several marks on the body of the victim as a result of series of torture from the suspect.
 
“The corpse has been deposited at St. Joseph Catholic Hospital Mortuary, Oke-Agbo, Ijebu-Igbo, for autopsy.

“As soon as investigation is concluded, the suspect will be arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction,” Oyeyemi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said.
