The immediate past Governor of Katsina state, Ibrahim Shema, who was
declared wanted on Wednesday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly diverting N18billion of the state government’s fund to his private account has turned himself in.
According to a report by
Vanugard newspaper, the former governor who is a chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), reported to EFCC office in Abuja around 9:30 a.m. on Friday.
His spokesperson, Oluwabusola Olawale, the ex-governor turned himself in because “he is a law abiding citizen who has absolutely nothing to fear.”
He added that Shema “went to submit himself to the EFCC even though the agency has not been fair to him in handling his case.”
