Speaking yesterday in Abuja, Femi Adesina, the presidential special adviser on media and publicity, reacted to the controversy in the House of Representatives over alleged N42billion constituency projects inserted into the budget at committee level after the House had passed the document.
The presidential spokesman who said the widely publicized 'Budget Padding' was a matter the presidency could not dabble in yet, added that it was only when the House of Representatives referred it to the executive that the presidency can act.
“It is a National Assembly matter, especially the House of Representatives. When it is sorted out there and referred to the Presidency, that is when the Presidency can do anything about it. There is the principle of separation of power,” Adesina told Daily Trust.
