The Senate has passed for first reading a bill to establish grazing reserves for cattle across the country.

During today's plenary session at the National Assembly, members of the Nigerian Senate passed for first reading, a bill to establish grazing reserves for cattles across the country.
Rabiu Kwankwaso, a senator from Kano central, who sponsored the bill titled it: "National Grazing Reserves Agency Bill, 2016", as it was read the first time at the senate on Wednesday.
There was also a similar bill titled "National Ranching Commision Bill" which was sponsored by Barnabas Gemade, a senator representating Benue North East, and it also scaled the first reading.
The bills are coming at time that there have been reports of attacks by Fulani herdsmen across the country. The killings in Nimbo, Enugu State and Agatu in Benue State, are some of the recent reported attacks.
