Reno Omokri, a former political aide to Goodluck Jonathan, has taken a tactical jab at outspoken minister of information, Lai Mohammed over his controversial comment.

We reported it here yesterday that in an interview on Channels Television, the minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed, attributed the ongoing tomato scarcity in the country to Boko Haram, adding that insecurity in the north-east had forced many farmers out of the zone.

“People talk about the price of tomato but they forget one thing; they forget that the price of tomato today is a direct result of the fact that we have lost two years harvest to Boko Haram insurgency.

“Most of the people you see riding Okada (motorcycles) in Lagos are people who would have been in the farm to produce consumable items,” Lai Mohammed said.

As the news went viral online and social media, Goodluck Jonathan's former political aide, Reno Omokri, took to Twitter and fired hilarious tactical jabs at the outspoken minister.

"Thank you Lai Mohammed! The army must search Sambisa very well. That's where Boko Haram must have hidden our tomatoes! #NamesAffectDestiny," he wrote.

He added, "As minister for information, Lai Mohammed must realize that there's a difference between fame and popularity and noisemakers and newsmakers!"
