Reports emerged on Friday that a female UTME candidate had disappeared while traveling from the Epe area of Lagos to Ajah.

A student who was previously reported missing on her way to sit for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) has been found and reunited safely with her family.

Reports emerged on Friday that a female UTME candidate had disappeared while traveling from the Epe area of Lagos to Ajah.

A Twitter user identified as Johnson, who described himself as a relative of the candidate, revealed that the girl had sent a distressing message indicating she had mistakenly boarded “the wrong car.”

The student was later identified as Esther Oluwafayofubmi Oladele.

According to accounts, she had been traveling on Thursday ahead of her scheduled examination at 9 a.m. on Friday.

In her message to a sibling, Esther reportedly said, “I’m scared. I think I entered the wrong car. My eyes are itchy and I feel sleepy.”

Johnson said the incident was promptly reported to the Ajiwe Police Station in Ajah, where authorities initiated preliminary investigations and promised to circulate the information to other stations and broadcast alerts.

“They advised us not to depend entirely on the police and to continue independent efforts to locate her,”
he added.

In an update posted on Saturday, Johnson confirmed that Esther had safely returned home.
