Paul Ibe, media aide to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, former presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has taken a jibe at President Bola Tinubu.
He mocked the Nigerian leader following his return to Nigeria from France.
Ibe said Tinubu can no longer be referred to as Emi Lokan but AWOL lo Kan.
Posting on X, Ibe wrote: “I have just been reminded by a friend that Tinubu actually arrived in Nigeria 2 days ago on a working visit.
“I, formerly known and addressed as Emilokan, now wish to be known and addressed as A.W.O.L lo kan #AWOLOKAN.”
On Monday, Tinubu returned to Nigeria, after his visit to France.
The aircraft conveying Tinubu arrived at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja by 9:00 pm and was received by some top government functionaries.
Earlier, the Presidency had disclosed that Tinubu will return home after the Easter holidays.
This followed concerns by some Nigerians over the continued absence of Tinubu amid insecurity challenges.
While away in France, Plateau, Borno, and Benue states had witnessed attacks from terrorists, a situation that led to the death of many people.
However, Onanuga explained that the President was in touch with realities on ground in Nigeria.
The President had departed Nigeria for France on April 2, 2025 on a short working visit.
It would be recalled that Tinubu, during his two weeks retreat in Paris, held a meeting with the United States Department of State’s Senior Advisor for Africa, Massad Boulos.
