You Can’t Carry Expo — Reactions Trail Iyabo Ojo’s AI-Generated X Caption

Famous Nigerian actress, Iyabo Ojo has stirred serious mixed reactions on social media after an AI-generated caption in her recent post revealed an unedited ChatGPT response.  

The actress had taken to X to express her gratitude to guests who attended her recent event in honour of her daughter Priscilla’s upcoming white wedding to Tanzanian singer Juma Jux.

Priscilla and Jux had their Islamic traditional wedding in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on February 7. The couple is set to hold their white wedding in Lagos, Nigeria, on April 17.

“Your post is already wonderful! Here’s a slight tweak to make it even more polished:”

“Overwhelmed with joy and gratitude! Yesterday’s Mother’s Night surprise celebration was truly unforgettable. Thank you to my amazing friends for planning this special event and to everyone,” she wrote.

However, keen-eyed social media users noticed that Ojo’s caption appeared to have been generated using ChatGPT, an AI-powered writing tool.

The giveaway was the unedited portion of the AI’s response, which read: “Your post is already wonderful! Here’s a slight tweak to make it even more polished”.

The oversight drew criticism from X users, with many calling out the actress and her team for what they perceived as “unprofessional slip-up”.

Despite the backlash, some fans praised Ojo’s attempt to craft a heartfelt message.
