Adedamola Oyinlola Adefolahan, the famous Afrobeats singer, who is better known as Fireboy DML has spoken on the comparison between Ghana’s Black Stars and Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
According to him, Ghana stands as a better team despite Nigeria’s abundance of individual talents.
He emphasised the Black Stars’ strength lies in their teamwork, whereas the Super Eagles struggle to combine their individual brilliance into a cohesive unit.
Fireboy, on 90s Baby Show podcast, specifically pointed out the disparity in midfield capabilities, highlighting Thomas Partey’s impressive performance against Real Madrid during Arsenal’s Champions League clash.
He noted that Nigeria lacks a midfield capable of matching Partey’s skill and influence on the game.
He said, “Right now, Ghana is a better team [than Nigeria’s Super Eagles]. Individually, we [Nigerians] are better. But as a team, Ghana is better.
“For some reason, we have not been able to combine the brilliance of each player to form a solid team. I think it will take time. We have a lot of talents but we have not been able to utilise them.
“Unlike Ghana, we don’t have a good midfield. Thomas Partey alone, we don’t have a midfield to battle that. You saw how Partey handled Real Madrid during their Champions League clash with Arsenal. We don’t have that.”
