Tears flowed on Tuesday night as a fire engulfed a residential building at 74 Lagos Street, Obohia Road, Aba, Abia State, leaving tenants devastated.

The cause of the fire was not yet established officially but some residents claimed that it was started by a sudden electric spark in one of the rooms.
They added that it was efforts of youths and other sympathizers at Obohia road that prevented the raging fire from consuming nearby houses and shops from being consumed.
Some of the affected occupants while describing the incident as a major disaster, appealed to Abia State government for assistance.
The Chief Fire Officer of Abia State, Nnanna Arua could not be reached on phone for official statement.
