Nigeria Navy Deactivates Illegal Oil Storage Facility, Recovers Exhibits In Bayelsa State

The Nigerian Navy has uncovered a storage facility in Tumburu Community, Bayelsa State, containing pipes, valves used for illegal connections, and numerous sacks filled with illegally refined products.

The NAVY wrote; “On Monday 31 March 2025, Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) SOROH discovered and deactivated a storage facility in possession of pipes, valves used for illegal connections and numerous sacks containing illegally refined products in Tumburu Community, Bayelsa State.

“Subsequently, NNS SOROH patrol team discovered and deactivated an illegal refining site with 12 refining ovens, metal collectors, one 5.5KVA generator, 1 motorcycle and 2 large dug-out pits laden with a large amount of stolen Crude Oil and illegally refined AGO in Biseni forest, Bayelsa State.”
