Fanwo maintained that there was never any discussion that Natasha should be assassinated.

Kogi State Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo has refuted claims that former governor, Yahaya Bello, Governor Usman Ododo and Senate President Godswill Akpabio plotted to assassinate Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

Fanwo claimed nothing like that ever happened.

Recall that Natasha had made the allegation while addressing her supporters during a rousing welcome in her hometown in Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State on Tuesday.

She said though the plot was not made public, the Nigeria Police Force has since been notified.

According to her, Akpabio initiated her recall process after allegedly promising the former governor of funds.

Natasha had said: “The second thing he said was that he should try and kill me. I didn’t make this public, but I have written to the IG of Police.

“Akpabio told Yahaya Bello that he should make sure that killing me does not happen in Abuja, that it should happen here so that it will look as if it was the people that killed me here”.

Reacting, Fanwo, in an interview with Channels TV, said: “The governor (Ododo) and the senate president never discussed anything that has to do with the suspended senator (Natasha) of Kogi Central.

“There was no conversation to recall her, and there was no conversation to assassinate her.”
