The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Ibok-Ete Ibas has issued an order to all Heads of Local Government Administration in the various 23 councils.
He ordered them to submit reports on their functions, number of staff on nominal roll, and sources of revenue generation, among others.
This was made known in a memo issued by the office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government Affairs directed to the Heads of the Local Government Administration in the 23 councils.
The memo was signed by Dame Dr. Itong Awani, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government Affairs.
According to the memo, the LG administrative heads should submit the reports to the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government Affairs on or before 26th March, 2025.
It went further to state the acceptable template for the report. This the memo listed as introduction/preamble, functions of the council, number of staff on nominal roll stating cadre by cadre, and sources of revenue generation in the LGA.
Others templates are activities of the council/on-going and completed projects for the past two years, achievements of the council, challenges, recommendations and conclusion.
