In a statement over the weekend, the White House also said the United States would continue working with its great partner Israel to push for the release of all remaining hostages.

The White House on Saturday attributed the successful release of four Israeli female soldiers, held hostage by the militant group Hamas, to President Donald Trump’s intervention.

In a statement over the weekend, the White House also said the United States would continue working with its great partner Israel to push for the release of all remaining hostages.

“Today the world celebrates as President Trump secured the release of four more Israeli hostages who were, for far too long, held against their will by Hamas in horrific conditions,”
the statement read.

“The United States will continue with its great partner Israel to push for the release of all remaining hostages and the pursuit of peace throughout the region.”

Recall that the four Israeli female soldiers were held captive by Hamas for 477 days.

They were released on Saturday under the ongoing ceasefire agreement.

Naama Levy, Liri Albag, Karina Ariev, and Daniella Gilboa were paraded in Gaza City’s central square before being handed over to the Red Cross and eventually reunited with their families in Israel.

Recall that the current ceasefire agreement includes the release of 200 Palestinian security prisoners, many of whom were convicted of terrorism-related offenses, in exchange for the hostages.

The Israeli government has promised to continue efforts to secure the release of the remaining hostages and to obtain clarity on their status.
