Suspected Assailants Kill Cyclist And One Other In FCT

Two persons have been killed by suspected hoodlums and herdsmen in the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The corpse of one of the victims, a motorcyclist identified as Hussain Gambo, was found dumped in a ditch near Pegi community in Kuje on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.

A resident of Pegi, Ishaya Bako, who confirmed the incident to Daily Trust said the deceased was declared missing on Sunday.

He said the deceased was stabbed to d3ath and his motorcycle taken away by suspected hoodlums who boarded his bike from Tukpechi village to convey them to Pegi.

Bako said some members of the vigilantes on patrol discovered the corpse and alerted some Okada riders in Kuje tipper garage, who mobilised to the scene and identified the corpse.

A member of the vigilante, Yakubu Gambo, confirmed the incident, saying the deceased lost his bike after some hoodlums stabbed him to death dumped his corpse in a ditch and escaped with his bike.

“It was some of the Okada men who came and identified his corpse and told our members that the deceased picked two passengers from Tukpechi village to Pegi on Sunday, after which he was not seen again until when his corpse was found on Tuesday,” he said.

He said the corpse had been handed to relatives at Sauka village along Airport road for burial.

Similarly, gunmen suspected to be herders have k1lled one Nanlir Wazhi Bala in Kuje.

The deceased hailed from Timshat Langtang in Plateau State.

Details of the incident are still sketchy at the time of filing this report.
