A lawyer has given tips on how married couples can avoid sharing properties with their ex-partners after divorce.

The lawyer by name, Nupe took to social media to reveal what couples can do.

According to the lawyer, if anyone marries under the Act, either at the Marriage Registry or License Church, any property made during the marriage that comes in the name of just couple will be shared after a divorce.

He added that the court does not consider the fact that the other party didn’t contribute financially to the property but it would be shared fairly and equitably.

Explaining how this can be stopped, he advised couples to sign prenuptial agreement before marriage.
