Popular Nigerian rapper and songwriter, Ycee has narrated his unpleasant experience after losing N2.7 million through a Point of Sale (POS) machine.

The incident, which occurred in November 2024, has prompted Ycee to call for a nationwide ban on POS machines due to concerns over their security.

According to Ycee, the unauthorized withdrawals were made using his ATM card in three transactions: N1 million, N1 million, and N700,000. He emphasized that the theft did not occur at an ATM, but rather through a POS machine, highlighting the lack of security measures in place.

Ycee expressed frustration with his bank’s response, stating that they have yet to provide an explanation or solution for the missing funds.

He argued that if the incident had occurred at an ATM, CCTV footage would have been available to aid in the investigation.

In light of his experience, Ycee is advocating for a ban on POS machines, citing concerns that many others may have fallen victim to similar crimes.

He believes that stricter security measures are necessary to prevent such incidents and protect individuals’ finances.
