Two Edo Fire Service Officials Hospitalised After Building Collapse In Benin City

It was reported that the officials were in the community to extinguish a fire that had engulfed the building.

Two Edo State Fire Service officials are reportedly hospitalized after sustaining injuries in a building collapse while responding to an emergency.

According to Daily Post, it was gathered that the incident happened in the early hours of Friday (today) at the Evbuotubu community in Benin City.

It was reported that the officials were in the community to extinguish a fire that had engulfed the building.

An eyewitness account stated that the building collapsed on the staff while they were putting out the fire.

At the time of filing this report, it had not been ascertained whether the staff members were from the Edo State Fire Service or the Federal Fire Service.

Meanwhile, when contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Federal Fire Service in the state, Deputy Superintendent Asimu Sumaila, said he had not yet been informed of the incident.

He promised to get back to our correspondent after receiving a briefing from the operational officers.
