Prison Officer Imprisoned For Having S3x With Inmate At HMP Wandsworth

A 30-year-old female prison officer who was seen on camera engaging in s3xual intercourse with a convicted burglar in his cell at HMP Wandsworth has been handed 15 months jail term.

Linda De Sousa Abreu of Fulham was filmed in June engaging in explicit acts with inmate, Linton Weirich, 36. The footage, recorded by another prisoner on an unauthorized phone, went viral online last year.

The officer, who was in full uniform at the time, admitted to three separate s3xual encounters with Weirich on the same day.

Sentencing her at Isleworth Crown Court on Monday, Judge Martin Edmunds KC highlighted the seriousness of her misconduct. He noted that one encounter was accidentally recorded on her body-worn camera, while another was encouraged by a fellow prisoner, who provided commentary during the filming.

Abreu, who has also worked as an OnlyFans model and appeared on a Channel 4 program about swinging, pleaded guilty to misconduct in a public office. The judge described her actions as part of “repeated behavior,” not an isolated incident.

Judge Edmunds criticized the damage caused by her actions, stating that they had undermined years of efforts to foster respect for female officers in a male-dominated environment. HMP Wandsworth Governor Andrew Davy echoed this sentiment, describing how her behavior had undone progress in promoting professionalism and respect.

Abreu’s defense, led by Rajiv Menon KC, argued that her actions were influenced by a severe personality disorder and ADHD, which made her impulsive and reckless. The court heard that she used s3x as a coping mechanism to experience positive emotions.

Despite accepting full responsibility for her actions, Abreu was close to tears as she received her sentence. She will serve half of her 15-month term in custody, with the remainder on license. The judge also credited her with 95 days served under curfew.
