The church was silent on whether or not ransom was paid to free the pastors.

Two pastors of the Brethren in Nigeria (aka Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa A Nigeria, EYN), Rev. James Kwayang and his Secretary, Rev. Ishaku Chiwar who were kidnapped by gunmen last week, have been freed from captivity.

President of the EYN, Dr Daniel Mbaya confirmed the release of the pastors.

The EYN president appreciated the prayers of members of the church and other wellwishers, according to a statement released by the Media and Communication Officer of the Church, Mr Mbursa Jinatu.

“As we celebrate the safe return of these two dedicated servants of God, we are reminded of the power of collective prayer and support,”
Mbaya stated.

The church was silent on whether or not ransom was paid to free the pastors.

It could be recalled that the clergymen were abducted from their base in the Malabu area of Fufore Local Government area of the state last week.

The Adamawa State Command of the Nigeria Police was yet to comment on the new development as of the time of filing this report Monday morning.
