Nasarawa State Governor Sule Sacks All Commissioners, Advisers, Dissolves Executive Council

The announcement was made during an emergency executive meeting at Government House, Lafia, on Friday, following Vice President Kashim Shetima’s departure after inaugurating state projects during a one-day visit.

 

Abdullahi Sule, the Governor of Nasarawa State has dismissed the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barrister Muhammad Aliyu-Ubamdoma, and dissolved the state executive council, including commissioners, senior special advisers, special advisers, and personal assistants.

The announcement was made during an emergency executive meeting at Government House, Lafia, on Friday, following Vice President Kashim Shetima’s departure after inaugurating state projects during a one-day visit.

A top government official, speaking anonymously told Daily Trust that “Although the exact reasons for the dissolution are unclear, the governor is known for restructuring the state’s administration.”

In 2021, Governor Sule similarly dissolved the executive council, citing the need for a more effective and efficient governance structure. 

“As the situation unfolds, citizens of Nasarawa State await further clarification on the implications of this decision and the future direction of the state’s administration,” the source added.
