One person has been confirmed dead, while two others sustained varying degrees of injury in a single-vehicle accident involving a Toyota RAV4 in Abuja.
The tragic incident occurred on Friday January 3, 2024, along Mabushi - Nicon Junctiòn Expressway was traced to the loss of control by the driver when the vehicle skidded off the road and somersaulted after uprooting palm trees planted at the middle of the road.

Rescue teams including the Federal Road Safety Corps ( FRSC), Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO) and the Nigerian police were seen surrounding the wreckage of the ill-fated vehicle with the registration number ABJ 914 PH.
The deceased has been deposited in a morgue while the injured ones are currently receiving treatment at the Maitama General hospital.
Meanwhile, one of the survivors, who does not want his name mentioned, blamed the accident on the driver and accused him of sleeping while driving.
Passersby were seen trooping to the scene to catch a glimpse and sympathise with the victims.
