Gunmen Kidnap Prominent Benue Community Leader

The spokesperson of the Benue State Command, Catherine Anene confirmed the abduction.

Deacon Emmanuel Tor Yaji, the leader of a tribal group in Benue State, has been kidnapped by gunmen.

Yaji, the leader of an association known as Kunav United Development Association, was abducted around 10 pm on Monday, December, 30, 2024 at his country home in Tsar Mbaduku in Vandeikya Local Government Area of the state while relaxing with his friends.

The spokesperson of the Benue State Command, Catherine Anene confirmed the abduction.

The PPRO urged members of the public to provide any useful information that could assist in rescuing the victim.

“On 30/12/2024 at about 2030hrs, information was received at Vandeikya Police Division that Mr. Emmanuel Tor Yaji of Tsar Mbaduku was kidnaped at Tsar where he sat relaxing with his friends,” Anene stated.

"Swiftly police detectives were deployed for his rescue and investigation is on going.

“The command will appreciate every useful information that can lead to his rescue.

“Further information about this operation will be communicated as the investigation progresses.”
