Some gunmen, who are yet to be identified, have reportedly abducted no fewer than seven travelers in the Sabon Borno area of Sokoto State.

Zagazola Makama, a counterinsurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, reported that the gunmen intercepted a commercial vehicle near Chin Golf Village early Tuesday morning.

According to the publication, the victims, comprising six women and a driver, were forced out of the vehicle and taken into the forest.

The report suggested that the gunmen are suspected to be associates of Turji Bello, a notorious bandit leader.

Efforts to reach the Sokoto State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ahmed Rufa’i, proved abortive as he did not respond to calls made by DAILY POST.
