Oleksandr Usyk successfully defended his unified world heavyweight championship by defeating Tyson Fury at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.

It was an intense 12 rounds of boxing, with momentum shifting first from one then to the other.

Eventually Usyk handled Fury’s aggression enough to win by unanimous decision.

The three results from the judges all read 116-112.

Earlier this year, Usyk handed Fury his first professional defeat and became the undisputed heavyweight world champion in the process, the first in 25 years since Lennox Lewis.

Pursuing a rematch with Fury, however, meant he relinquished the IBF title, which is now held by Britain’s Daniel Dubois.

However, Usyk still holds his unified WBO, WBA and WBC world heavyweight titles.
