Nigerians React as Nigerian Police Lists Insult As Criminal Offense

The Force Public Relations Officer, Abuja Headquarters, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, had made this known in a statement via his verified handle on X on Friday.

 
Nigerians have slammed Force Public Relations Officer, Abuja Headquarters, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi for saying that curses and insults are criminal offences.
 
He made the claim on X on Friday.
 
He noted that raining direct curses online, constitutes cyber bullying, which according to him is defamation.
 
“Raining direct curses on someone online is cyberbullying, not expression of freedom or criticism. And cyberbullying, which is even different from defamation, is a criminal offence and punishable. Be guided,” he stated.
