Harrison, who witnessed the accident said the Sienna collided with a moving truck, resulting in the death of the female passenger in the front seat while the mother and her children sustained varying degrees of injury.
A woman and her four children who were involved in an accident along the Benin/Asaba Expressway have been rescued by human rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishu and men of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).
The accident which occurred on Thursday afternoon, December 19, 2024, involved a truck and a Toyota Sienna travelling from Lagos to the East.
Harrison, who witnessed the accident said the Sienna collided with a moving truck, resulting in the death of the female passenger in the front seat while the mother and her children sustained varying degrees of injury.
According to Harrison, the injured victims are in critical condition and are being treated at St. Theresa Hospital Issele-Uku.
He urged anyone with useful information on their family to contact the hospital.
"CHECK IF YOU KNOW THEM. I have just witnessed a tragic accident on the Benin/Asaba Expressway involving a Toyota Sienna traveling from Lagos to the East,” he wrote.
"The vehicle, which was conveying a family, collided with a moving truck, resulting in the death of the female passenger in the front seat.
"I assisted in rescuing a woman and her four children, who are currently receiving medical attention at a nearby hospital.
"I commend the prompt response of the FRSC Delta State/Issele Office. The rescued mother and children are in critical condition and are being treated at ST THERESA HOSPITAL ISSELE-Uku. The families can locate the hospital from Asaba entering bus and stop over at Issele-Uku Junction.
“As you journey back from Christmas Holiday, I urge you to talk to your driver to exercise caution and avoid reckless driving.”
