VP Shettima Departs Dubai For Saudi Arabia After Representing Tinubu

Following the event in Dubai, the Vice President will perform the Lesser Hajj (Umrah) in the holy cities of Madinah and Makkah.

Nigeria's Vice President, Kashim Shettima has exited Dubai for Saudi Arabia where he represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the commissioning of a $315 million oil production and storage facility owned by Oriental Energy Limited (OERL).

Stanley Nkwocha, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Communications (Office of the Vice President), disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.

Shettima attended the Dubai event alongside prominent dignitaries, including the Executive Chairman of OERL, Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi, and the Executive Vice Chairman, Engr. Goni M. Sheikh was seen off at the airport by key OERL officials and other stakeholders.

Following the event in Dubai, the Vice President will perform the Lesser Hajj (Umrah) in the holy cities of Madinah and Makkah.

The pilgrimage, which will run from December 16 to 19, 2024, will be led by Professor Babagana Zulum, the Governor of Borno State.

On December 20, Shettima will hold a high-level bilateral meeting with the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) in Jeddah.

Discussions will focus on co-financing arrangements for Nigeria’s Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ Phase II) and strategies to enhance the coordination of IsDB projects in Nigeria.

According to Nkwocha, the meeting aims to strengthen collaboration between the IsDB and Nigeria, particularly in advancing the country’s agricultural sector and overall economic development.
