Motorists and passers-by were seen lamenting the situation which would possibly cause untold hardship to workers returning from office.
Motorists on the Gbagada-Oworonshoki Expressway in Lagos have been advised to seek alternative routes after a truck overturned in a lone accident on Wednesday afternoon, blocking nearly 90 percent of the road and causing significant gridlock.
In the video captured by Vanguard Media, traffic from Oshodi to Gbagada, and Gbagada to Third Mainland Bridge, have been grounded as at the time of writing this report around 4pm.
Fortunately, there was no loss of life in the unfortunate incident.
The accident involved an overturned truck, with split contents on the road.

Men of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authourity, LASTMA, Nigeria Police and other rescue team were seen trying to remove the impediment to allow easy flow of traffic pending the arrival of crane for total evacuation.
Therefore, motorists were urged to ply Ojota-Ikorodu Road axis to connect to their destinations in order to avoid been caught in the gridlock.
