A member of the House of Representatives from Bayelsa, Fred Agbedi has been confronted by youths of the area.
This happened after he had boasted to have been in power for about 32 years.
The youths slammed him for holding tightly to power, questioning whether there are no other qualified individuals in Bayelsa who can take over the seat.
The incident occurred at Merit House during an interactive conference on electoral reform titled Setting the Agenda, organized by the Civil Society Coalition for Sustainable Development.
During the question-and-answer session, the youths became angry and urged the lawmaker to step aside and allow others to take over.
“Hon, if I listened you correctly, you said you have been in the office for 32 years. Tell, what is the benefits of the people of Bayelsa to your administration? And why is it that for 32 years, you are still in office? Is is that the people of Bayelsa cannot produce a suitable youth or another person to take your office?
Another angry you said, “Sir, you have no right to remain in office. Hon Fred, 32 years, that was before I was born and you have been in office. The first time I heard about you was two years ago when your mother died. The other time was when there was a fire outbreak at Karu Market, where you came to make promises. If not for today, nobody would know you.”
As the situation became tense, the moderator quickly interjected and stopped the confrontation.
