Osun journalist and Development advocate, Adedayo Odeniru, has advised women not to have too many children.

According to him, the responsibility of raising them might fall on their shoulders when their spouses die, become irresponsible or fall ill.

Odeniru, who gave the advice in a Facebook post also said that older children are forced to raise the younger ones in cases of parental death.

He advised women not to just be breeders because it alters their lives.

"Dear Women, it is in your best interest to not have too many kids. Too many factors should make you pay attention to this very closely," he wrote.

1. What if you have to take responsibility for the kids alone? Spouses die. Spouses become irresponsible. Spouses become helpless in cases of illness.

2. While you raise kids, your life's balance gets altered. The more kids you raise, the longer your period of imbalance. It would help if you had a life of your own too. It would be best if you achieved some success yourself. Don't be just a breeder!

“I don't think you were born to just raise kids! Think about yourself before procreating with reckless abandon!”
