Sources revealed that the attackers opened fire on Apostle Ige-Daniel’s car around 8:30 p.m. after the vehicle ran into their barricade.
Apostle Ranti Ige-Daniel, a pastor of the Royal Assembly Sanctuary, Lagos, in Isanlu community, Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State, has been killed by gunmen.
The Lagos-based pastor, originally from Mopa, was abducted alongside three others while traveling between Idofin and Makutu road, near Isanlu. The pastor had reportedly been in the community since Tuesday to attend a revival crusade and was heading to a burial ceremony after concluding the programme.
Sources revealed that the attackers opened fire on Apostle Ige-Daniel’s car around 8:30 p.m. after the vehicle ran into their barricade. The pastor was killed instantly, while the gunmen abducted the three other occupants of the car, including a woman believed to be his fiancée.
Reports suggest the pastor bled to d£ath as the gunmen attempted to ferry him into the bush along with the other hostages.
Rev. Dr. Francis Iselowo, a close associate of the family, confirmed the tragic incident. “Your life was snatched in a dastardly manner with three other people still in the captivity of the terrorists. I heard that the kidnappers were asking for N10 million per person,” he said.
