World-famous American actor, Nick Cannon has acknowledged that he "needs help" after disclosing that he has been diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD).

The father of 12 said he displayed nearly all the markers for the condition, and opened up about how it has affected his daily life during an episode of his “Counsel Culture” podcast.

While serving food at the Los Angeles Mission Thanksgiving charity event, the “Masked Singer” host told People that he was always under the impression that he had been undiagnosed.

“I still don’t understand it all the way, but I kind of always wanted to get tested for it. I did a bunch of tests,”
Cannon, 44, told the outlet.

“I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD. Even as a kid it was dyslexia, but just knowing that I’m just a neurodivergent individual, I kind of always knew.”

Those with Narcissistic Personality Disorder typically find it challenging to have empathy for others, and often have an extremely high sense of self-importance, according to Mayo Clinic. They also often seek out attention from other people.

After coming to terms with his diagnosis, Cannon said he’s working on becoming the best version of himself.

“I feel like there’s so many labels out there, but it’s like, to be able to embrace it and say, ‘Look, I’m healing. I need help. Show me.’ I just embrace mental health and therapy in such a strong way,”
he said.

“To be able to say I’m an example for others, but also be healing during the self-process works too.”

Cannon first revealed his diagnosis during the November 8 episode of his podcast, alongside special guest Dr. Cheyenne Bryant, a doctor of psychology.

The comedian said he had been “clinically diagnosed” with the condition, and has “taken all the power away from the term narcissism” by “researching it and understanding it.”

“Call me whatever you want… now if I didn’t know what it was, then I have issue with it,”
he added.
