Photo Of Scavenger Who Was Nabbed For Burglary By Amotekun In Ekiti

Ibrahim Umar, a displaced scavenger originally from Katsina State and residing on Oke-Bola Street in Ado Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State, has been implicated in a burglary. The incident occurred on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at a house located on Irekanmi Street, in the Aba Iyamedi area off Ilawe Road, Ado Ekiti.

According to the press statement made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti, the Head of Communications Department of the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps, Adeleye Abiodun Adewale: “The suspect broke into the house of one Mr Gbadura Oluwasola at the said location, Irekanmi Street, Aba lyamedi area, off Ilawe Road, Ado-Ekiti and carted away his home appliances such as stabiliser, home theatre, DVD, generator engine, refrigerator gas engine, as well as power bank and phone.”

However, he was apprehended by the operatives of the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps parading the area.

He has since been handed over to the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, of the Ekiti State Police Command in Ado Ekiti with all the exhibits recovered from him for investigations.

In a similar development, a 50-year-old man, Ojo Oluwafemi, has also been arrested in Efon Alaaye for burgling four shops located near the Idagba roundabout on Tuesday.

He allegedly confessed to committing the crime and equally revealed how he always burgled shops between the hours of 4 am and 5 am and returned home with stolen items.

He has been handed over to the police in Efon Alaaye for further investigations.
