The appointment of 11 of 19 directors who participated in the written interview for the permanent secretaries’ qualifying examination and were selected for the final stage, has been approved by President Bola Tinubu.

This development was confirmed in a memo from the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.

It was reported earlier in October that the Federal Government, via the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, initiated the process of appointing new permanent secretaries to address vacancies in eight states.

A memorandum from the OHCSF, signed by the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack, dated October 7, 2024, specified that individuals currently facing disciplinary actions are prohibited from applying for permanent secretary positions.

“The under-listed eleven (11) candidates are invited to the oral interview stage of the process for the appointment of Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service, following their successful performance in Stages I and Il of the exercise,”
the latest memo signed by Dr Emmanuel Meribole on behalf of the exam committee said.

Thirty-eight directors participated in the initial stage, while 19 directors progressed. Among the 19 directors who entered the second stage, 11 successfully passed and have now moved on to the third stage.

President Tinubu anticipates revealing the new permanent secretaries at the conclusion of the recruitment process.
