A fashion designer was left completely stunned to uncover the extent of theft committed by her staff, despite having precautionary measures in place.
The owner of April Wind Couture said that, to prevent theft, she put a rule in place that no staff can enter the office with their bags. She placed a cupboard at the entrance of the building for staff to put their bags.
She said she also employed a security guard to check staff when they are leaving the office.
Despite the measures she put in place, she noticed that whenever they cut a fabric to make a dress and return to the office the following day, the fabric would go missing.
After this went on for long, she decided to search the staff quarters where she found over a hundred yards of different fabrics in one staff's bag.
The employer could not understand how the staff, named Amaka, allegedly carried out the theft without being seen.
Apart from the fabric, she also allegedly stole other things like hemming gum, zips, and threads.
The employer said in the video: "Explain how only you will steal over hundred yards of fabric from this office when nobody comes in here with bag."
She added that she searched the bags of every employee in the staff quarters but, "out of the 23 people in the office," she didn't find anyone with anything, except for Chiamaka.
"How this degree of theft, only you, Chiamaka. Explain. Start explaining."
Chiamaka refused to offer an explanation and the employer told her the only reason she won't report her to the police is because she just lost her mother.
