The presidential aide made this known while reacting to a report that Malaysia has moved to phase out CNG vehicles over safety concerns.
Olusegun Dada, the Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Social media, has stated that the continuous attempt to de-market compressed natural gas (CNG) for vehicles will not succeed.
The presidential aide made this known while reacting to a report that Malaysia has moved to phase out CNG vehicles over safety concerns.
In the post via his X handle on Thursday, Dada clarified why Malaysia’s decision was taken.
The presidency added that the continuous attempt to de-market the CNG initiative was intentional but assured Nigerians it would not work.
He wrote, “Two major reasons why the Malaysian decision was taken;
“- Majority of the vehicles have reached their end of service life as they have been converted for over 15 years.
“- Many owners converted their vehicles to LPG instead of CNG which is extremely dangerous to the society.
“- CNG tanks are not the same as those in Malaysia that are about to be phased off.
“The attempt to continuously de-market this initiative is intentional but you can as well be rest assured that it is not going to work.
