The Lagos State Police Command PRO, Benjamin Hundeyin has reacted after a man alleged that he was harassed by men of the Nigerian Army.
The civilian identified as Ayo alleged that he was pulled by the Army and asked to follow them around Lagos for no reason.
He wrote on X: "Men of Nigerian Army are currently harassing civilians at Brown junction, Aguda Surulere.
"They pulled me over for no reason and their lead who wore a MP armband said he will delay me, make me follow them round Lagos for their patrol and waste my fuel.
“This is nothing but an abuse of power. ”
Reacting, Benjamin Hundeyin said: "Thanks for promptly calling our attention to this. We have verified. The military police are moving round Lagos State to clampdown on motorists using military stickers and having military head gear in front of their vehicles.
"Lagosians are urged not to exercise fear as @LagosPoliceNG is fully there for you.
"#SeeSomethingSaySomething".
However, the X user stated that he didn’t have military stickers yet he was stopped.
