Neighbours say the fight occurred at midnight as the man allegedly hit the wife and she collapsed.
A man identified as Chima Eseni has been arrested by the police over the alleged killing of his wife, Ugo Chima, during a fight in their home on Ogbaga Road, Kpirikpiri located in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state.
Eyewitnesses say the couple had been having irreconcilable issues before the recent fight that sadly claimed the life of the woman. Neighbours say the fight occurred at midnight as the man allegedly hit the wife and she collapsed.
Neigbours immediately rushed her to the hospital where she sadly passed away.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Joshua Ukandu who confirmed the incident to newsmen, said;
“The man physically assaulted the wife. She was taken to the hospital but she gave up the ghost because of the injuries inflicted on her. The man is in our custody”.
