The government of President Bola Tinubu has again increased the price of petrol across states.

This is according to a report by Peoples Gazatte.

The report stated that FG through the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) raised petrol prices once more.

Lagos and Abuja residents will now pay ₦1,025 and ₦1,060 per litre, respectively instead of the  ₦998 and N1,030 that was increased last October.

According to Peoples Gazette, updated prices were displayed at NNPCL stations in Lagos and Abuja on Tuesday.

This adjustment, attributed to worsening economic conditions, is expected to further challenge Nigerians already struggling with rising living costs.

Since President Tinubu’s subsidy removal announcement on May 29, 2023, petrol prices have surged from ₦145 to over ₦1,000 per litre, deepening financial strain across the nation.

Frustrated citizens have coined the nickname “T-Pain” (Tinubu-pain) for the President, reflecting the economic hardships under his leadership.
