Suspected Motorcycle Thief Set Ablaze In Nasarawa

The angry mob after beating him black and blue thereafter took a used tyre, sprinkled petrol on it, put it on the suspected thief and set him on fire.

An irate mob has set a suspected thief ablaze over the alleged theft of a motorcycle in Nasarawa State.
 
The incident occurred on Thursday October 24 around 7:30pm at Aso A, Mararaba Gurku area of Karu.
 
The angry mob after beating him black and blue thereafter took a used tyre, sprinkled petrol on it, put it on the suspected thief and set him ablaze.
 
Reacting, a resident of the area named Shuaibu Muluku, lamented that the tragic event raises concerns about jungle justice and the breakdown of law and order.
 
“While the desire for justice is understandable, mob justice is never an acceptable solution. Lets work towards a safer and more just society," he said.
