Son Of Kano Governor’s Spokesperson Dies In Indian Hospital

A media aide to Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, has experienced a devastating loss with the passing of his 15-year-old son, Sadiq Modibbo Bature.

Reports on Friday morning revealed that Sadiq died at a hospital in India where he had undergone a successful bone marrow transplant at a hospital in India.

It is worth noting that Dawakin-Tofa is the head of Media and Publicity at the Kano Government House.

The news of his son’s death, however, has thrown the family and the Kano State government into mourning as the deceased is described as an intelligent lad full of potential.

Sadiq reportedly died on Thursday morning, several days after undergoing a successful bone marrow transplant at a hospital in India.

The young prodigy had endured severe pain due to sick cell anemia since birth until he met his final fate.

On his social media accounts, Dawakin-Tofa confirmed the heartbreaking news of his son’s death due to complications from the surgery.

Sadiq is expected to be buried according to Islamic rites at Dawakin Tofa town in the coming weekend.

In one of the posts, the bereaved father wrote: “This morning, I lost my first child, Sadiq (Modibbo) Bature at the age of 15. He lived as a good, brilliant and obedient child.

“Throughout his life, Modibbo has suffered from sickle cell anemia, which he underwent a successful bone marrow transplant this month in an Indian hospital. Unfortunately, he died as a result of post-surgery complications in his brain.

“The body of our beloved Saddiku would be brought back home in a few days for burial in accordance with Islamic rites in my hometown, Dawakin-Tofa. Date and time would be announced upon arrival of his remains.”


The sad passing of young Sadiq has continued to attract condolences from friends and political and professional associates of the Governor’s Spokesperson, who prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
