An ex parte request from a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), backed by Governor Bala Mohammed, to hold the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, has been denied by a Federal High Court in Zamfara.

The faction sought the court’s approval to convene the NEC meeting as internal tensions within the party continued to escalate.

Justice Salim Ibrahim, presiding over the case, declined the request and postponed further hearings until October 25.

The ruling adds another layer to the ongoing factional crisis within the PDP, as the party grapples with leadership and organizational disputes.
