Isaac Fayose, younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has expressed displeasure over the arrest of crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, aka Bobrisky, by the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS).
Recall that the socialite was apprehended at the Seme border while trying to leave Nigeria for Benin Republic.
This comes against the backdrop of House of Representatives investigative hearing over his leaked audio conversation involving some Nigerians, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS).
In the audio leaked by VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky is alleged to have bribed EFCC officials with ₦15 million to drop his money laundering charges.
His claims led to an investigative hearing by the House of Representatives, which the crossdresser had refused to honour.
Reacting, Fayose opined that the treatment meted out on Bobrisky was unfair.
He stated that Bobrisky has already served his jail term for Naira abuse and should be allowed to live his life.
Speaking via social media, he said, “Please, why is Nigerian Immigration Service holding Bobrisky? What has he done? Can’t he travel again?
“They fought him and he went to jail for what others never went to prison for. Prisons has said he served his jail term; he was there and finished his six-month sentence in the prison.
“So, what is your problem? Is it a crime to be a crossdresser? What has he done? Is he the only crossdresser in Nigeria?
“Why is the Nigerian Immigration holding the young man? Why are they chasing him? We have bigger person issues in Nigeria than Bobrisky. It’s time to allow Bobrisky live his life; it’s unfair.”
