The Nigerian man, Bidemi who was unconscious and rushed to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital after he fell inside a canal while allegedly being pursued by police officers, is dead.

It was reported that the lady who shared the story online said the victim was her friend's husband. She posted a gory video showing the moment the man's unconscious body was pulled out from the canal by residents of the area and staff of the Lagos State Fire Service.
According to the lady, the officers who weren't in uniforms, profiled the victim as a Yahoo boy because of his tattoo and he decided to run after the officers corked their guns. He was reportedly chased until he fell into the canal.
She further said eyewitnesses claim the officers allegedly went away with the victim's money and shoes.
