Gbenga Omotoso, the Lagos state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, has revealed that the distressed storey building that collapsed in the Orile area of the state earlier today October 14, was evacuated two weeks ago and had already been marked for demolition.

No casualty was recorded as the building had been evacuated two weeks before the incident. In fact, it had been marked for demolition.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency(LASEMA), Fire Service , Building Control Agency (LASBCA) and the Police are at the scene to ensure there are no secondary incidents.''
